I moved the Alfa out of the garage and into the driveway over the weekend to do a full maintenance job on the CRV. Friday night, presumably some punkass kids ripped off the GTV6 badge form the decklid, taking with it a fair amount of paint thanks to the 3M badge adhesive. My neighbor found the badge in his lawn.
ANYWAY, the badge, which is about 2x8" and is sort of a soft, semi-flexible metal, is all bent and warped now, and won't lie flat against the car. Sweet. Plus the missing bits of paint. I was able to lay down some epoxy primer and a bit of leftover touchup paint, but it's still obvious. I'm probably going to have to get the shop to repair it.
Jesus jumped up. I take the car out of the garage for not even 24 hours and it's vadalized. I called APD, but the other time I had a vandalism report (2007 someone shot out a bunch of car windows with a pellet gun, including my Pathfinder's rear glass) no one ever called me back, so I'm not hopeful. And this is a really nice neighborhood! It's Leave it to Beaver-land. Argh.
Pix later today... Going to the Greyhound terminal to pick up my Recaro mesh-heads!

Goddamn dude, seriously? That's infuriating.

I know those feels, bud; people are just jerks and it makes me sad.

Man, that just sucks. Maybe you can get the badge flush and flat again by gingerly applying some pressure in a vice? Just a thought.

They also tried ripping up the plastic bumper shroud thingy, but it was bolted down so now it's just all deformed and flappy. Probably going to have to remove the rear bumper (not hard, but also not fun) and see what's what.
My fury is assuaged by the pleasant surprise of Greyhound shipping, which got my seats here for half the cost of UPS, and in two fewer days.

Yeah, maybe. With the design of the decklid lip, it's impossible without fabricating a clamp. My daughter has this booster seat clamp that opens to something like 36". Maybe I could modify that... Hmm.

I'd get a DC inverter, charge a big ass capacitor with vdc and hook it up to car. Those little shitstains would only touch the car once...

fucking brilliant.

Just make sure to use DC current, otherwise you'll be looking for a place to hide the body...

lol, their fault for touching my car when they shouldn't be.

How do I know if it's DC? Or do I have to re-wire my washer outlets?

Anything that comes out of a outlet is AC, you'll need an inverter to convert it to DC or just daisey chain 9 or 10 car batteries together.
